^{It gives me immense pleasure and joy in welcoming our visitors at Government Engineering College, Jagdalpur. It goes without saying that it is an honour and privilege to be the Principal of this College, which is considered  one  of the premier educational institution of the Bastar District of Chhattisgarh state. It’s a Matter of joy that the institution is  located at  vananchal/tribal area of the state. Government Engineering College, Jagdalpur has successfully completed its 35 years tenure. The college set up with a goal to make the youth of Bastar proficient in technical field and not only fixed a milestone of completing its tenure in a tribal dominated area of Bastar, but also the exposition achieved full success in its goal. Having received education from this college, thousands of students have got golden opportunities in their life and they are working  in various  fields for the development of our country.}

                                   ^{The Government  Engineering college, established on first march in 1983.Initially, the college was affiliated to Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University ,Raipur. The college started with intake capacity of 20 in civil engineering in 1984 and  also after one year, Mechanical engineering was started with intake capacity of 30. In the year 2000, Electronics & Telecommunication and Information Technology branches  were started with an intake  capacity of 30   in each.  In the year 2005-06, Electrical engineering was started with intake  capacity of 30 students .Mining engineering was launched in the year 2010 with intake capacity of 60 students. The two Master degree  courses ,Structural engineering in civil and Thermal engineering in mechanical were started with capacities 18 in each. In the year 2010 the intake capacity of Civil and Electronics and Telecommunication engineering were increased to 60.}

                                   ^{The college campus is situated in Dharampura, on the Chitrakote road about 5 KM. from bus stand  towards west of Jagdalpur city. The college was started from forest rest house in 1984-85, after 1 year working at saket colony. In 1990-91, the college was shifted in dandakaranya building at dharampura-1. In 1995-96, it was again shifted in its own present campus. The institution is running in 7 buildings at present. Four hostels, two for boys and two for girls are available in campus. The Government Engineering college, Jagdalpur offers 6 undergraduate and 2 post-graduate courses. Our college campus contains Civil department, Electrical department, Mechanical, Mining department, IT department and Electronics & Telecommunication department. All the laboratories of college are equipped with modern equipments and software .}                     

                                 ^{The Results of our college are appreciable. The alumni of this institute are working across the world in good terms. Maximum students of our college got selected every year. For the development of the college as a leading institution, I have served with hard work, honesty and perseverance. For the work done in the field of technical education, institution development and student growth, I have been  looking of conferred with 21 national and international awards. My contribution in technical fields, the International open university Sri Lanka has honoured me with Doctor of Literature. I am also honoured by peace university, Germany in Doctor of Science. My next attempt would be to make Government Engineering College Jagdalpur, an I.I.T. level Institute and avail high quality technical education to the students.  The college is continuously working for the fulfillment of students goal and will continue to work.}
